Businesswoman Eva was hospitalized with influenza A, and her adopted daughter Ruby sent a $500,000 nursing cost statement. Feeling bitter, she tallied twenty-eight years of rearing records totaling $1,870,000 and sued to recover the costs. Ruby and her husband refused to repay and demanded assets by force. They stole gold and cash from the home and were detained multiple times without remorse.

They later disrupted a corporate funding event with banners and lies. Eva produced the adoption papers in public, severed the mother–daughter bond, and legally reclaimed her costs. She then let go of the past and refocused on restarting her career.
