Elite lawyer Yara is renowned in her firm for her unbeaten record. While visiting her hometown, she witnesses her childhood friend Shirley being abused by her husband, Wen. Yara intervenes, and upon learning she is a lawyer, Shirley clings to her as a lifeline, begging her to help file for divorce. Shirley brings seven other abused women to Yara’s home, all pleading for her assistance. In the end, Shirley is sentenced to heavy prison time for bribery, intentional assault, and other crimes. The villagers, blinded by ignorance and greed, lose their eligibility for demolition compensation. Meanwhile, Yara’s family name is finally cleared of injustice.
