Leo, a common-born youth, awakens the F-rank talent "Bottom-Feeder." His fiancée Luna, an S-rank Frost Phoenix holder, publicly breaks their engagement. Noble Charles Watson beats him and dumps him in a sewer. On the brink of death, Leo activates the Omni-Evolution System, evolving his talent into the S-rank Abyssal Black Drake. He escapes, cripples Charles in the academy arena, and turns down a military offer—sparking a feud with the Watson Clan.

During the wilderness trial, instructor Robert, bribed by nobles, tries to murder Leo. Leo kills him and sends his head to the Watsons as a declaration of war. Adopting the alias Nightfall, he wins the Frost Lotus at a black-market auction and cripples heir Victor in a death duel. Cornered, Watson lord Arthur conspires with the Shadow Guild to poison dignitaries and stage a coup. Leo storms the banquet and slays Arthur and guild vice-leader Malachi. Dying, Malachi detonates S-rank beast-luring incense, summoning a hundred-thousand beast horde led by Beast King Cerberus. General Hayes betrays the city and flees with nobles. Leo shoots down the aircraft and faces the tide alone. Near death, he burns all evolution points for a second hyper-evolution, awakening the SSS-rank Calamity Bone Dragon. With one strike, he annihilates the horde and the Beast King, saving Valoria City. Refusing homage, he heads into the wilderness to uncover the truth behind his parents’ disappearance.
