Twenty-six years ago, Don Colonna, head of a powerful Las Vegas crime family, was murdered by his underboss, Stefano. His infant daughter, Rosa, was abandoned in the casino slums and replaced by a false heiress, Giulia. Raised as a cleaner, Rosa never knew her true identity. When an old family loyalist recognizes her crow-shaped birthmark, Rosa discovers a terrifying gift: she can foresee people's deaths. Among her visions, she sees Dante, the new Don of a rival family, dying in her arms—with Rosa herself as his killer.
Bound by their fathers' murders, Rosa and Dante form an alliance. As Rosa reclaims her identity and confronts her enemies, she discovers that Dante's uncle, Vincenzo, orchestrated both murders and has imprisoned her mother for twenty-six years, exploiting her bloodline's power to control fate. Vincenzo murders Giulia, frames Rosa, and traps her into stabbing Dante with a poisoned dagger at their wedding. But the lovers outsmart him with a staged death and evidence exposing his crimes. Vincenzo flees to New York, where Rosa and Dante face their greatest threat yet: judgment by America's most powerful Mafia family.
