Claire carefully roasted four chicken legs, but was accused of being selfish by her son because she ate one herself, while her husband Matt condoned and acquiesced throughout. She suddenly realized that her years of dedication had been taken for granted, that her husband had long belittled her and portrayed her as the family villain, and that her son had been taught to look down on his mother. Disheartened, Claire firmly proposed divorce and cut off financial support.
Without her care and support, the father and son's lives took a nosedive. By the time they came to their senses, Claire had regained herself and was living a comfortable life of her own.
