The story
Twelve-year-old Elair is Subject 11, a werewolf experiment on the run. Dying of silver poisoning, she knows seeking help will expose her and doom her adoptive family.
In her final three days, she deliberately makes them hate her—pouring out medicine, stealing, and saying cruel words—so they won’t risk their lives to save her. Only after she dies in the red dress her father gave her do they discover the heartbreaking truth: every act of rebellion was an act of love.
