Remi, a human, is at the Elf High King's wedding. She's not invited, but is here to catch her boy friend Marcus with his Elf girlfriend. But somehow, she slips down a slope, and accidentally causes the bride's death.

Nilo, the High King, decides that she should be the new bride! Turns out Nilo has lost six brides, all on their wedding days. As the seventh, Remi tries to survive and help Nilo fight this weird curse, but they face more complicated power struggles.
