Figure skater Ruby, heiress to a New York fortune, hides her identity to marry self-made entrepreneur James out of love. Her talent quickly earns her a spot on the national team and world champion buzz. But on the eve of nationals, she is kidnapped and her legs severely injured, ending her career. From her hospital bed, Ruby discovers the plot was orchestrated by James and his lover Kelly to boost Kelly's career and secure endorsements – even her doctors are bribed. Devastated, Ruby divorces James, reconciles with her father, and undergoes intensive rehab.
She fully recovers, wins the national title, and secretly gathers evidence. Along the way, she reconnects with Louis, who has loved her for years. At the grand "Nocturne" gala, Ruby delivers a flawless performance. James is arrested, Kelly is banned for life. Finally, Ruby accepts Louis's proposal and finds true happiness.
