The female protagonist, Lin Ruofei, seeks out Lang Shao Lu Zihao to save her father. He makes a demand that she spend the night with him. The president of Lu Group, Lu Beiting, is drugged and mistakenly enters the male lead's room, leading to a relationship between the two. In the end, Lin Ruofei's father still passes away. Six years later, Lin Ruofei, with her son Lin Beibei, is seen by Lu Beiting's son, Lu Xinyu, who notices that Lin Beibei looks exactly like him. The male lead, due to a slight similarity between the female lead's sister, Lin Ruoqi, and the scent of gardenia, becomes engaged to her but has never touched her in six years. The young master appoints Lin Ruofei as the designer for the renovation of the Lu Mansion garden. Lin Ruofei and Lin Beibei encounter Lu Zihao in the shopping mall, and both sides think that the child belongs to the other. Lin Beibei, waiting outside the restroom for his mother, is taken home by someone from Lu Mansion, while Lu Xinyu goes home with Lin Ruofei, and the two children experience a swap. The two children meet at Lin Ruofei's house.

The male lead thinks that the female lead is approaching him with the scent of gardenia, but he also feels a sense of familiarity. The male lead rescues the female lead, who is almost bullied by Lu Zihao. The female lead, acting drunk, almost drives the male lead crazy. The scheming Lin Ruoqi constantly targets her sister Lin Ruofei because she knows that she was the one who had a relationship with Lu Beiting and fears her hard-earned status will be exposed. The two children confirm their identities and assist the male and female leads with a series of moves to bring them together. Lu Zihao and Lin Ruoqi kidnap Lin Ruofei and Lu Xinyu. Lin's father suddenly appears and saves the children. Lin's father, who was thought to have died six years ago, explains that he narrowly survived and was also the one who, during his daughter's premature birth, colluded with a doctor to take a child to Lu Mansion. He used the Lu family's power to overthrow and frame the Lin family, who had wronged him. Under the children's encouragement, the female lead agrees to the male lead's marriage proposal.
