The story
Orphan Ella can see soul‑color above people’s heads: silver for goodness, black for evil. She picks stern‑looking Hawk and Martha with silver souls over deceitful nobles, heals her paralyzed brother Kane and guards her family with her gift.
When jealous childhood friend Mira seeks to seize all she has, Ella and her loving family unite to defeat evil and gain happiness.
