Lydia had been deceived by her boyfriend, a human trafficker, and sold into the mountains, where she became a pawn for the villagers to bear children. Despite countless attempts to escape, she was always caught and brutally beaten by them. After giving birth to a pair of twins, the Holt family rejected the baby girl, Ivy, viewing her as an unwanted burden, but Lydia insisted on raising her. When Ivy reached adulthood and was accepted into college, the Holt family planned to sell her for money.

In secret, Lydia helped her daughter escape, urging her to find Krista, her long-lost grandmother. Lydia's actions angered the villagers, and she was captured by the village chief to face punishment according to their traditions. After fleeing the mountains, Ivy successfully found her grandmother, Krista, and returned with bodyguards to rescue her mother. Ultimately, Lydia and her daughter managed to leave the mountains behind and transform them into a vacation resort, finally reuniting the family.
