The story

Her husband is set up by a fellow villager and loses their entire 30 grand savings in a single night. Emily, a former "Queen of the Con" who's long left the life, is forced back to the table. Her daughter's tuition and her father's medical bills leave her no choice. Playing the fool, she stays in every hand, her bets rising relentlessly.

She drives the two con men to wager everything—their savings, their businesses, even signing away their own organs. Then, with the final card, she reveals a hand no one saw coming. Checkmate.
