The story

Prince Serion of Lyssarion and Prince Kaelo of Volantia pledge lifelong love at a border stargazer's tower, until Serion's father King Telamon invades Volantia and forces Serion to stab Kaelo. Serion deliberately misaims to save Kaelo, and is branded for treason and condemned to servitude as punishment.

Ten years later, Kaelo returns for vengeance, holds Serion as his scorned personal captive, and learns the truth after Serion takes a blade for him. They crush a rebellion together and rule as equal kings side by side.
