On her wedding day, Joylan's fiancé left her at the altar, leaving her as a laughingstock of all nobles. Desperate, she proposed to Adrian, "The Lame Duke". The rush marriage didn't work out well at first, since Adrian didn't protect Joylan from her difficult "family", who turn out to have killed her real parents. When Joylan became pregnant, Adrian's assertive grandpa even murder the baby, just to keep him under control.

In grief, she divorced Adrian and left. Adrian finally realized his love for her and dropped his disguise. It was time to stand up to protect her and win her back.
