It's hard to keep everyone on the same level

The story
At the birthday banquet of Wang Guoli, a retired state-owned enterprise worker, he publicly announced his decision to leave the family's prime apartment located in a prestigious school district, highly sought after for its educational benefits, to his son, Wang Liang. This declaration immediately sparked outrage from his eldest daughter, Wang Lin. She unleashed years of bottled-up frustrations over perceived favoritism, recounting countless instances of their parents' deep-rooted favoritism toward sons over daughters, a common cultural bias. Wang Lin insisted that the property be divided equally among the children, threatening to consider withdrawing from her caregiving duties for their parents if her demands were not met. Meanwhile, the second daughter, Wang Yu, quietly wished she could distance herself from the family drama, as the middle child often burdened with mediating conflicts.
As tensions within the family reached a boiling point, their mother, Liu Guiying, suddenly collapsed. She was later diagnosed with a stroke and required prolonged bed rest and care. Faced with the overwhelming burden of caregiving and household responsibilities, the three siblings descended into relentless arguments. Wang Liang and his wife, focused solely on claiming the property for themselves, neglected their responsibilities toward their aging parents. Wang Lin, her years of suppressed grievances finally erupting, stood firm in her demand for an equal balance of rights and responsibilities. This storm of familial discord, born from years of deep-rooted favoritism toward sons over daughters, now threatened to push their family, teetering on the edge of collapse due to unresolved conflicts, closer to breaking apart.
