Rent a boyfriend to take home
Episode 2 · English · 30 episodes
The story
To appease her family's relentless pressure to get married, Lin Xiaoxiao arranged an “interview” for a rented boyfriend, Gu Yan, at a café. The two signed a one-month contract to act as a couple. Though Gu Yan claimed to be a finance professional, in reality, he was a theater actor. With his refined acting skills, he played the role of a “boyfriend” with incredible precision and depth.
As they spent more time together, tackling challenges and overcoming hurdles as a team, feelings began to blossom between them. The unexpected visit from Lin Xiaoxiao's mother became the ultimate test. With genuine care and the comforting taste of home, Gu Yan won over the elder's heart, and in doing so, revealed his sincerity to Lin Xiaoxiao. In the end, Gu Yan shed his “actor” façade, confessing his true feelings. The two decided to turn their temporary arrangement into a lifelong commitment. What began as an arrangement born out of convenience transformed, through heartfelt moments and authenticity, into a mutual and enduring love.
