The story
On her 18th birthday, "charity orphan" Mara is framed for stealing the Winston family's heirloom necklace, becoming a viral pariah. In reality, Mara is the secret heir to a $3. 4 billion empire.
Ten years ago, her "guardians," the Winstons, murdered her mother, then drugged and isolated Mara to legally seize her fortune by declaring her insane at adulthood. But on her birthday, a timed email from her late mother’s lawyer exposes the truth. No longer a puppet, Mara is ready to cut the strings.
