Born with dwarfism, Li Qiulan endures endless stares, mockery, and humiliation, until discrimination crushes her hope for life. Just as she decides to end everything, she encounters an abandoned baby girl, Li Mingyue, a chance meeting that reignites her will to live. Qiulan raises Mingyue as her own, devoting everything she has to protecting her future.
Years later, the local tyrant Liu Zhiqiang becomes obsessed with Mingyue’s beauty, and threats soon escalate into coercion and brutal violence. Mother and daughter fight back desperately, suffering public humiliation and relentless abuse, until Qiulan is gravely injured while shielding her daughter—but even broken and bloodied, she refuses to bow.
