Sofia Sterling was kicked out of her home by her father and had her assets frozen due to her excessive spending. With the help of her best friend Skye, she entered into a contractual marriage with Luke Carter. Initially, she only aimed to get money, but they gradually developed feelings for each other while jointly dealing with Vivian Thorne's provocation and the bankruptcy crisis of the Sterling Group.

Luke had already had a crush on Sofia since he was five years old and had kept the rosary and photo she gave him as treasures. In the end, they were open about their feelings, gained recognition from both families, and their contractual marriage turned into a real romantic relationship. Vivian and Zane suffered the consequences of their evil deeds, and the Thorne family went bankrupt.
