Back In Time
Facts about this page, and the webmaster
I thought it might be nice to take a moment to talk about me, and what goes into making this page. I am an Architectural Consultant for a Systems Integration & Services firm. I mainly focus on NetWare and NT network design and troubleshooting.
The first video game I owned was an Atari 2600.
The first computer I owned was an Atari 400. The second computer I owned was an Atari 800.
The third computer I owned was an Atari 800XL. The fourth computer I owned....... Well, it
was an IBM, but I think you get the idea.
I can't even begin to tell you how much of my paper route money I earned as a kid was
spent on Atari systems. I even had a job in college working for an Atari computer store,
and most of the money I earned there went towards Atari products. To this day, I
spend entirely too much money and time on my Atari habit.
As for this page, I am doing all of the design work with Microsoft FrontPage '98. I started this page in November, 1997, and it was originally hosted on GeoCities. Recently, I have done a complete redesign of the site, and temporarily changed the host to my Internet provider, MediaOne. The page is currently hosted by Emulation World, and I am planning on making this location my permanent home.
Most of the information on this page was gathered on my own, based on my experiences over the years with arcade games, and Atari. I have had assistance from several sources:
Some of the pictures of video game equipment on this page are from the Digital Press CD-ROM. This has got to be the most complete compilation of photos of all video games.
Although this page may only cover the Atari games, this CD also has information on the Colecovision, Intellivision, Vectrex, and many others. This is a great buy. Features include:
Over 1100 game box scans
Over 1100 screenshots
Over 700 typed instruction manuals
Over 1000 handheld pictures
37 digitized TV commercials
Emulators for the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, ColecoVision, and Vectrex
Many, many, many pieces of never-before-seen hardware and software
....and this only scratches the surface! There are 8000+ files spread across two CDs! Click on the image to go to the information site.
I.C. When is the BIBLE of computing and video gaming history. Names, dates, places, etc. It is entirely possible to spend hours in this site.
