Atari Lynx
Additional Hardware

This page is graphics intensive.  It may take a few moments to load.

The Lynx had some great add-on devices that enhanced gameplay, and the overall functionality of the unit.  Most of these additional devices were produced by Atari, but there are also a number of 3rd party companies involved as well.  Here is a closer look at some of the Lynx add-on devices.....

Lynx Battery Pack

Lynx Battery Pack - If you wanted to extend your Lynx battery life for an extended time, this was the answer.  The Lynx battery pack accepted four "D" batteries.

ComLynx Cable - The ComLynx cable was used to "daisy-chain" multiple Lynx systems together for multiplayer games.

Lynx Pouch

Lynx Pouch - A small carrying case.  The Lynx pouch holds a Lynx unit, several games, and cables.

Lynx Carrying Case

Lynx Carrying Case - This case is much larger than the Lynx Pouch (shown above) and is used to package up a Lynx, accessories, and game cartridges for travel.  The case was padded to prevent damage to the Lynx system.

Lynx AC Adapter

Lynx AC Adapter - The AC Adapter is used to power the Lynx when an AC outlet us available.

Lynx II Sun Visor

Lynx Sun Visor - This device snaps on to the top of the Lynx unit, and helps keep the glare from lighting down to a minimum.  It also assists in blocking out sunlight when played outdoors.  This results in a better picture.

The plastic housing folds over the screen when the Lynx is not in use.  This prevents the screen from getting scratched.

There are different versions available for both the Lynx, and Lynx II systems.

Lynx Cigarette Lighter Adapter -  This unit will power a Lynx unit in a car.  One end plugs into the Lynx itself, and the other end goes into the cigarette lighter in your car.
